NATCHEZ — Two regulation extra-time periods were not enough to determine a winner in a soccer game between the Cathedral Lady Green Wave and the Adams County Christian School Lady Rebels on Wednesday afternoon.

Neither was a sudden-death overtime period. It took two rounds of penalty kicks with Cathedral converting five of them while ACCS converted just three, giving the Lady Green Wave a 1-0 win in an MAIS Class AAA Division III South, District 4 game.

The official score remained 0-0 leading to the penalty kicks. Both teams converted two PKs — Faith Anne Brown and Gracie Foster for Cathedral, Zoe Loomis and Danyel Weir for ACCS.

The second round of PKs was dominated by Cathedral with Christi Hamilton, Samantha Montgomery and Maggie Ulmer converting their opportunities. Rivers Lee allowed just one PK by ACCS in that round and that was by Gordon.

Cathedral hosts Discovery Christian School next Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

ACCS plays at Brookhaven Academy next Wednesday at 4 p.m.
