NATCHEZ — Services for Roosevelt “Big Ro” Johnson Sr., 78, of Natchez, who died Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, at Merit Health Vicksburg, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Hill Baptist Church No. 1 with the Rev. Joe Picket officiating.
Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home’s Natchez chapel and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Johnson was born Oct. 25, 1939, in Mississippi, the son of Napoleon and Margaret Johnson.
He was a member of the senior choir at Zion Hill Baptist Church No. 1.
Johnson was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and three brothers.
Survivors include his loving wife, Dianne C. Johnson; three daughters, Linda Johnson and companion, Roosevelt, and Roseketa Johnson, all of Natchez, and Shelia Jones and husband, Jeffrey, of Dallas; two sons, Kedrich Claiborne of Atlanta and Roosevelt Johnson Jr. of Natchez; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Brown and husband, George, of Natchez; three brothers, Willie Johnson of Natchez, Leonard Johnson and wife, Ann, and Robert Johnson, all of New Orleans; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
