WINNSBORO — Services for Freddie Roy Cooper, 87, of Sicily Island, who died Sept. 28, 2018, in Alexandria will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Pine Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Harrell Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the church.
Mr. Cooper, retired from International Paper, was born on October 12, 1930, in Sicily Island, the son of Roy Lee Cooper and Mae Bass Cooper. He was a Godly man who loved his family, his friends, all children and animals. He was kind, funny, and had a truly beautiful heart. We, who are left behind, have been blessed to have had him in our lives.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Freddie C. “Pete” Cooper; three sisters, Lola Thompson, Wanda Martin and Minnie Quay Harris; and brother, Clark B. Cooper.
Survivors left to cherish his memory are his wife, Edna Cooper; two daughters, Cheryl Cooper Mouliere and husband, Marshall, and Joan Cooper Hampton and husband, Gary; one son, Dennis Cooper and his wife, Kristine; four grandchildren, Chelsea Cooper, Hunter Tyler, Emma Cooper and Abigail Cooper.
Pallbearers will be Marshall Mouliere, Gary Hampton, Hunter Tyler, Dennis Durant, Tommy Kirby, Chase Weeks, John Duncan and Eric Chauvin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ray Golmon, Ted Holder, Vernon Dennis, Casey Weeks, and Rodger Kerstetter.
