NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Shannon June Overby, 56, who died Saturday, July 14, 2018, at her residence, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Community Chapel Church of God, 100 Oakland Drive in Natchez, with the Rev. Bo Swilley officiating.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Friday at the church.
Ms. Overby was born Oct. 5, 1961, in Aurora, Colo., the daughter of Billy J. Overby and Sandra J. Williams Overby.
Overby was an employee of the family business, Overby Pools, for more than 30 years. She loved all animals and often rescued strays, giving them a permanent home. One of her favorite activities was hostessing at a number of the area antebellum homes, at which she excelled.
Overby was a beloved daughter and mother.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, L. Ray Overby, Ethel Arnold and Doyle Murray; and maternal grandparents, James M. Williams Sr. and Mildred Edwards Williams.
Survivors include her son, Colton James Overby; her parents; and a number of uncles, aunts and cousins.
