NATCHEZ — A woman whose silver Nissan Rogue SUV smashed through a brick wall at the Natchez Mall told Natchez police that a stuck accelerator caused the accident.

The accident occurred behind the UA Natchez Mall 4 movie theater Friday afternoon.

“She was driving through the parking lot and the accelerator stuck and she collided with the mall,” Chief Walter Armstrong said.

Despite initial reports the driver left the scene, Armstrong said the woman was on the scene to give police a statement. Armstrong said no charges were filed.
