MEADVILLE — Funeral service for Carl Howard Hancock, 89, of Ferriday, who died on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018 at Riverland Medical Center, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville with the Rev. Eddie King, the Rev. Danny Avery and the Rev. Leon Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in the Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of the Franklin Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Hancock was a lifelong construction contractor, working jobs all over Mississippi and Louisiana. He loved to fox hunt, fish, deer hunt and being outdoors.
Mr. Hancock faithfully attended Parkview Church of God in Natchez with his wife and family for many years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and best friend and will be greatly missed.
Mr. Hancock is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Howard Hancock and Lucy Amazon McCallister Hancock; sisters, Loraine Hancock Israel, Dorothy Hancock Moody; and brothers, Moyese Hancock and Lemuel Hancock.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Rheva Causey Hancock; son, Christopher Hancock and his wife, Tori, of Chesbrough, La.; grandchildren, Lance Hancock, Lori Michelle Lambert; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Steve Edwards, Collin Edwards, Ken Causey, Will Causey, Larry Wheat, Lance Hancock and David Spiess.
