Mississippi Highway Patrol Troop C Public Affairs Officer Corp. Kervin Stewart said relatives told investigators that Ferrill was six-months pregnant at the time of the crash.

J.W. Mallett, Claiborne County coroner, said Ferrill was riding in the back seat of a Chevrolet Silverado that was being driven by Christopher Bradley, 28, also of Natchez.

Stewart said both Ferrill and Bradley died as a result of their injuries, and a third passenger in the Silverado, Allen Cotten, 56, of Vidalia, Louisiana, remains in treatment for life-threatening injuries at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

Stewart said reports indicate the Silverado was traveling south on U.S. 61 in Claiborne County, south of Port Gibson near the Natchez Trace, when it crossed the centerline and sideswiped a Jeep Cherokee that was traveling north.

Stewart said the Silverado then collided head on with an 18-wheeler that also was traveling north.

Stewart said MHP responded to the crash at 2:30 p.m. and the driver of the semi and passengers in the Jeep were not injured.
