NATCHEZ — Funeral services for Edna Rose Jones Strauder, 76, of Natchez who died on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, at Merit Health Natchez will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Chapel No. 2 Church with the Rev. Walter Smith officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 5:30 p.m. today with a celebration of life wake service at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
Mrs. Strauder was born, Feb. 2, 1942, in Adams County, the daughter of Walter Alexander and Elvira Ward.
She was educated in the Natchez school system and was retired from the Holiday Inn. Edna was a member of the Zion Chapel No. 2 Church where she served on the mother’s board. She enjoyed traveling and attending church services.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Strauder; her parents; son, Alfred Jones and great-granddaughter, Jaliyah Smith.
Survivors include three sons, Walter Jones, Coil Lee Jones and wife, Doris, Preston Jones and wife, Jessie; two daughters, Martha Butler, Patricia Washington; two sisters, Thelma Jones and Augustine Reynolds; 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
