ADAMS COUNTY — Two juveniles from Natchez returned fire Monday after allegedly being shot at while driving on Morgantown Road.
Lt. Cal Green said the juveniles reported the shooting at 1 p.m.
“Two juveniles driving a Hummer said they were traveling north on Morgantown Road and when they got near Cedar Lane someone shot into the vehicle,” Green said. “They had no idea who shot at them. They fired two shots back at the unknown suspect. He said he felt he was protecting himself and his brother.”
Green said police recovered one shell casing and combed the area where the shooting occurred but they did not determine who fired the shots or where the shooter was located.
“They questioned the juveniles and they said they had no idea who was shooting at them. They ran the firearm they had and it didn’t have any records, so it was registered,” Green said.
Green said neither of the juveniles was hurt.
