NATCHEZ — Services for Rebecca “Pennye” Scroggins, 73, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 2 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Randall officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Scroggins was born Nov. 18, 1944, in Bentonia, the daughter Griffin Irwin and Effie Elinda Bradshaw Irwin.

She was a member and organist at Trace City Baptist Church in Natchez.

Scroggins was a retired nurse at Natchez Regional Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dewey Nelson Scroggins; one brother, Dave Irwin; four sisters, Gwen Creel, Barbara Davis, Floann Landrum and Peggy Ferris.

Survivors include two sons, Mitchell Nelson Scroggins and wife, Natalie, of Natchez, and Brad Ivan Scroggins and wife, Stephanie, of Ozark Mo.; four granddaughters, Teresa Marie Scroggins of Conway, Ark., Brittany Lemay Scroggins and fiancé, Blake Smith, Amber Nicole Scroggins of Natchez and Cali Alexa Collins of Ozark; two grandsons, Jonathon Nelson Scroggins and Brad Ivan Scroggins Jr., both of San Diego, Calif.; and three brothers, Rudy Irwin of Bentonia, Jerry Irwin of Benton and Carey Irwin of Hiawassee, Ga.

Pallbearers will be Tracy Irwin, Phil Davis, Michael Ferris, Bruce Davis, Lannie Creel and Gerald Creel.
