NATCHEZ — Services for Jack Marion Scott, 84, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby McGuffie and the Rev. Rajesh Behara officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Rich Balkcom officiating under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Scott was born Oct. 18, 1934, in Belden, the son of Jack and Jodie Scott.
He married the love of his life, Katherine Johnson Scott, on Dec. 28, 1953. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Scott served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean War. He retired from Armstrong Rubber Tire Company as the purchasing manager and Titan Tire Company, also as the purchasing manager.
Scott was a Blue Lodge Master Mason, 32nd degree York Right and a Shriner where he served a term as president. While a Shriner, he played a clown each year in the Natchez Shriner Circus. He and his wife were charter members of the Natchez Good Sam Club where he served as president. He also served as State director for the Good Sam Club of Mississippi.
Scott was a member of the Southern Rubber Group where he also served a term as president. He was a longtime member of Parkway Baptist Church where he served as a deacon during the 1980s.
He enjoyed fishing, playing golf, working in his yard, spending time with his family and traveling with his wife throughout the United States, Mexico and Canada in their motorhome. As members of the Good Sam Club, they enjoyed many campouts with friends.
Scott was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years; his parents; one brother, Buddy Gerald Scott; one sister-in-law, Francis Adair; two brothers-in-law, Doc Freeman and Bill Adair; and one niece, Melissa Scott.
Survivors include two sons, Ronnie Scott and wife, Mary Sue, of Aubrey, Texas, and Mike Scott and wife, Sue, of Poplarville; two daughters, Kathy Pollard and husband, Bill, of Natchez, and Kim Bachman and husband, Danny, of Savannah, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; Will Pollard and wife, Carrie, of Flowood, Katie Neely and husband, Preston, of Richardson, Texas, Trevor Scott and wife, Delonna, of New Orleans, Kristen Hunter and husband, Matt, of Cumming, Ga., Scott Pollard and wife, Emily, of Brookhaven, Keely Scott of Slidell, La., Kara Barham and husband, Josh, of Hattiesburg, Gus Bachman, Cooper Bachman and Chet Bachman, all of Savannah; six great-grandchildren, Kristen Pollard, Kensleigh Pollard, Jack Pollard, Levi Hunter, William Pollard and Henley Neely; one brother, Joe Scott and wife, Betty, of Tupelo; one sister-in-law, Nancy Freeman; and one brother- in-law, Thomas Johnson, both of Pontotoc.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Will Pollard, Trevor Scott, Scott Pollard, Gus Bachman, Cooper Bachman and Chet Bachman.
