NATCHEZ — Services for Dorothy Wayne Dotson, 65, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Egypt Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Earnest Ford Sr. officiating.       
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home’s Natchez chapel and from 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.
Mrs. Dotson was born Dec. 27, 1952, in Natchez, the daughter of Ira Jackson Jr. and Annie Laura Reynolds Jackson.
She accepted Christ at an early age. She retired was retired from Natchez Adams School District.
Dotson was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Billy Jackson.
Survivors include a loving and devoted companion, Michael Gaylor; two sons, Sherman Dotson of Natchez and Derrick Dotson and wife, Nola, of Clover, S.C.; two daughters, Shernell Bowser of Lake Wylie, S.C., and Nakoma Dotson of Rock Hill, S.C.; three sisters, Diane Parker and husband, Clarence Parker Sr., Ira Blake, all of Natchez, and Elaine West and husband, Theodore of LaPuenta, Calif.; three brothers, Willie L. Reynolds and wife, Evelyn, of Fort Worth, Texas, Donnell Jackson and wife, Sandy, of Kansas City, Mo., and Kenneth Jackson and wife, Beverly, of St. Louis, Mo.; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
