NATCHEZ — Services for the Rev. B.L. Calcote, 89, of Waxahachie, Texas, formerly of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018, in Waxahachie, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Henry McElroy officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Franklin County under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home.
Rev. Calcote was born Jan. 1, 1929, in Meadville, the son of Ernest Walter Calcote and Estell Wood Calcote.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1947 to 1951, and served God as a minister for 36 years.
Calcote was preceded in death by his parent; his wife, Louise Jones Calcote; one sister, Gladys Mitchell; and one brother, Robert Luther Calcote.

Survivors include three sons, Donnie Lynn Calcote of Waxahachie, Billy Gene Calcote of Natchez, and Johnny Wayne Calcote of Walker, La.; one daughter, Gwendolyn Stithem of Walker; one brother, Charles Calcote; one sister, Doris Tillotson; nine grandsons and five granddaughters; and a number of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jonathon Le Feer, Johnny Guice, Casey Calcote, Wayne Calcote, Bobby Wood and Ray Thrognorton.
