LORMAN — Services for Verdean “Verdie” Washington, 59, of Fayette, who died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Fellowship Baptist Church in Lorman with the Rev. Kemp Burley officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home’s Natchez Chapel and from noon until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Washington was born Feb. 1, 1959, in Natchez, the daughter of Charles “Joe” and Evelyn Fells.
She was a dedicated member of the Fellowship Baptist Church usher board.
Washington was preceded in death by her father and two brothers, Curtis Fells and Darryl Clark.
Survivors include her husband, Irving “Chief” Washington; two loving children, Lakisia Frye and husband, George, and Terekia Washington, all of Fayette; five grandchildren, George Frye Jr., Javian Nichols, Kenji Frye, Kenjaharryo Frye and Jazaiah Nichols; her loving mother; three brothers, Prentiss Fells, Willie Fells and wife, Gloria, and Charles Fells and wife, Sylvia; one sister, Annie Mae Craft and husband, Bernard; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
