WEST POINT — Services for Shirley Jean Ray, 61, of West Point, who died Monday, Nov. 12, 2018, at her residence, will be 10 a.m. today at Robinson Funeral Home Chapel in West Point.
Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Robinson Funeral Home.
Ms. Ray was born Feb. 10, 1957, in Chicago, the daughter of Johnny Ray and Bernice Edwards.
She was a member of Church of Christ. She loved crafts, owls and she loved to cook.
Ray loved Mississippi State University and the Dallas Cowboys. She worked at Pappy’s for a number of years.
She was preceded in death by her father; her grandparents, Wiley and Virginia Edwards; two uncles, Ralph Edwards and Virgil Edwards; three nephews, Claude Ray, Brian Lemmons and Kelen Tucker; and sister-in-law, Sherrie Ray.
Survivors include one daughter, Megan Ray of Columbus; two grandchildren, Tyrell Drake Jr. and Addlyn Ray; her mother, Bernice Edwards Richardson of West Point; two brothers, Ricky Ray of West Point and Eddie Ray and wife, Carol, of Natchez; one sister, Donna Agerton of West Point; special aunt, Annette Parrett, and aunts, Alice Edwards and Frances Edwards; special nieces, Kalynn Clardy, Brittany Agerton, Mary Anne Brown and Breanna Coleman; nephews, Cody Ray, Dustin Ray, Kirby Ray, Johnathan Ray, Harley Ray and Charles Ray; and a number of cousins.
Pallbearers will be Mitchell Parrett, Dan Parrett, Bob Johnston, Harley Ray, Kirby Ray, Amos Schrock and Luke Johnston.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. James Moore, Dr. Charles Pound, Dr. Jack Rodiquez, Houlon Parrett and Ecompass Hospice.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Natchez-Adams Humane Society.
