NATCHEZ — Funeral services for Jill Kaiser Thornton, 58, of Monterey, who died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018, at Merit Health Natchez will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Lismore Baptist Church with the Rev. Byron Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Lismore Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. Saturday until service time. Both visitations will be at the church.

Mrs. Thornton was born Oct. 3, 1960, in Natchez, the daughter of Powell Edwin Kaiser and Barbara Terry Kaiser.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Powell E. “Rubby” Kaiser Jr., and her mother and father-in-law, Chick and Doug Thornton.

Survivors include her husband, Dutch Thornton of Monterey; three sons, Bo Thornton, Floyd Thornton, both of Monterey, and Dutch Thornton and his wife, Savannah, of Jonesville; two daughters Sherry Thornton of West Monroe, La., and Jennifer Melton Hairston and husband, Randy, of Buna, Texas; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Kitty Kaiser Chavez and husband, Roy, of Weatherford, Texas, and Ann Kaiser of Natchez.

Pallbearers will be, Josh Thornton, Derrick Barlow, Jay Wilson, Jessie Tiffee, Randy Hairston and Mike Russell.
