NATCHEZ — Services for Robert L. “Bob” Anderson, 83, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2018, at The Carpenter House in Baton Rouge, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Milford Missionary Baptist Church, 300 Artman Road in Natchez, with the Rev. Eddie D. Alsworth officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Anderson was born June 19, 1935, in Natchez, the son of Isaac and Daisy Brady Anderson.
After graduating from Brumfield High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force, and later received his degree in engineering from Southern University in Baton Rouge and his master’s degree from the University of Washington. He retired from the Boeing Company in Seattle, where he designed planes and lived in Seattle for 32 years.
As a member of Milford Baptist Church, he served as a deacon, chairman of finance and president of the M.B.P.F.B. Society. He was a lifetime member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.
Anderson was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Dorothea Mackel; and three brothers, Isaac Anderson Jr., James Anderson Sr. and Freddie Anderson.
Survivors include two sisters, Marjorie A. Kinds of Natchez and Daisy M. Brooks and husband, Wadell, of North Chicago; one goddaughter, Kimberly N. Brown-Jones and husband, Ernest, of Dallas; two godsons, Michael E. Mackel and wife, Pamela, of Natchez, and Marques L. Kinds of Mesquite, Texas; three special friends, JoMarie Payton of Miami, Eddie Winchester and Charles Merritt of Natchez; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Pallbearers will be nephews and great-nephews.
