NATCHEZ — Private memorial services for Jewel E. Laird, 79, of Natchez who died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018, at his residence will be held at a later date. Laird Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Laird was born Jan. 16, 1939, in Natchez, the son of Chalmus Rushing and Mary Pickering Rushing.

Survivors include, his wife of 57 years, April Kempinska Laird; three sons, Earl Laird, Kit Laird and Charlie Laird; and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, William Laird, and a step- father Jim Laird.
