NATCHEZ — Services for Mary Lou Moore Pevey, 85, of Natchez, who died Friday, Nov. 23, 2018, at her residence, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Crosspoint Church, 285 Highland Blvd., with her granddaughter, Kelley Gay, officiating.
A private burial will follow after fellowship at the church.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.
Local arrangements are under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mrs. Pevey was born Jan. 16, 1933, in Natchez, the daughter of Cecil H. Moore and Mildred Stewart Moore. She lived in Natchez most of her life.
Pevey was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She adored her
grandchildren and enjoyed spending. time with them. Her unconditional love for
her family was apparent in how she took care of everyone. She also
enjoyed growing flowers in her garden, walking in the mall and going out to lunch
with her friends. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Pevey was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Herbert C. “Sonny” Moore;
and one sister, Johnnie Mae Moore.
Survivors include her husband, James B. Pevey; one daughter, Phyllis L. Radle and husband, Paul, of Baton Rouge; one son, Mickey Lawrence and wife, Dell; one brother, Clifton R. “Buddy” Moore and wife, Joan; and sister-in-law, Betty Jo Moore, all of Natchez; two granddaughters, Jenny Bulkley of Baton Rouge and Kelley Gay and husband, Shannon; one grandson, Mitch Lawrence and wife, Marcella, all of
Natchez; two granddaughters, Mandi Clayton and husband, Chase, of Vidalia, and Sydney Lawrence of Natchez; eight great-grandchildren, Drew, Seth, Ava, Brayden, Drennon, Emma, Mila and Molly; and her nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by her sweet puppy, Sassy.
The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to her wonderful
caregivers, Katie Anderson and Geraldine Minor, for all the loving care they
provided; to Deaconess Hospice, with special thanks to Courtney Wyles, Sheila
Evans and her physical therapist, Carlyn Elenbass.
