CANNONSBURG — Jefferson County officials are investigating the fatal shooting of a Cannonsburg man who was found shot to death in his vehicle early Sunday morning, Jefferson County officials said.

The victim Roderick D. McKnight, 40, is from the Cannonsburg community, said Ricky McDonald, Jefferson County coroner.

“It is an on-going investigation,” McDonald said. “He was fatally shot. We don’t have any suspects in custody.”

McDonald said McKnight’s body was found in his small SUV in the Cannonsburg community, and law enforcement officials are following up on leads.

Jefferson County Sheriff Peter Walker could not be reached for comment.
