NATCHEZ — Services for Vivian Lee Smith, 67, of Natchez, who died Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, at Adams County Nursing Home, will be 11 a.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Natchez with the Rev. Dr. Doug Broome officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Mrs. Smith was born Nov. 5, 1951, in Natchez, the daughter of John Dixon Shupe and Elise Lorraine Waycaster Shupe. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Benjamin Ray and James “Shuppie” Shupe.
Survivors include two sons, Jody Glynn Smith and Gary Casey Smith of Natchez; one daughter, Cassy Smith Simpson of Natchez; two sisters, Matilda McWhortor of Mount Pleasant, Tenn., and Mattilee Waycaster of Natchez; two brothers, Donald Shupe and Ronald Shupe of Natchez; six grandchildren, Tanner Blake Smith, Addison Kale Smith, Maddox Randall Simpson, Ryder Britt Smith, Sawyer Paige Smith and Judah Casey Smith; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Cody Garret, Kevin Ray, Danny Shupe, Bryson Shupe, Dixon Shupe and Richard Lambert.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Poole, Jerry Stroud, Jimmy Elveston, Terrel Jones, Todd Rymer and Charles Poole.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Lottie Moon Christmas offering through First Baptist Church of Natchez or the Stanton Baptist Church of Natchez.
