NATCHEZ — Two Adams County Christian School Drama Club students recently got to take a trip to the Great White Way in New York City to see the Broadway production of “Frozen.”

The trip, however, was not just for fun and entertainment. The trip was actually research for the roles the students will play in ACCS’ upcoming production of “Frozen.”

The trip, coordinated by ACCS Drama Club Director Malori Giannaris, will help ninth-grader Ginny Borum prepare for her role as Elsa, and 11th-grader Kaitlin McDaniel prepare for her role as Olaf, Giannaris said.

Giannaris arranged last month’s trip that included VIP tickets to the Broadway production of “Frozen” and gave the students a chance to meet cast members, including the actors who played their respective roles.

“I hoped they would get some real inspiration for their parts, which I think they did,” Giannaris said.

Borum said the experience helped her visualize her character and to learn how the stage version of “Frozen” is different from the animated movie version.

“It was an inspirational and educational trip for not only myself, as their drama director, but also for them as aspiring actresses,” Giannaris said. “Both left the city with promises to themselves that the next time they returned, they would be in front of the crowd instead of a part of it.”

ACCS’ production of “Frozen” will be at 6 p.m. on March 23 and March 30 at ACCS, Giannaris said.
