FERRIDAY — Services for George Williams, 88, of Clayton, who died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018, at his residence, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Harvest Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Charles Chandler officiating.
Burial will follow at Maitland Cemetery in Foules, La., under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Williams was born April 26, 1940, in St. Joseph, the son of Rowan and Anmy Wade Williams.
He was a retired longshoreman.
Williams was preceded in death by his parents; three sons, George, Darryl and Kimball Williams; and seven siblings, Rowan, Nathaniel, Harrison, Patricia Ann and Amie Williams, Maude W. Wells and Rose Alice Washington.
Survivors include four daughters, Janice Williams Turner and husband, Leamon, of Clayton, Georgette W. Ross, Tanya Singleton and Lorena Williams, all of New Orleans; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
