NATCHEZ — Services for Willie Bonds Jr., 68, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater New Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Wright Sr. officiating.     
Burial will follow at Old Sixteen Cemetery in Kirby under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Bonds was born on Aug. 4, 1950, in Natchez, the son of Willie Luther Bonds Sr. and Pecolia Tillman-Bonds.
He spent a great deal of his life in Houston and retired from Hewlett-Packard Software Company. In Houston, Willie Jr. was a member at New Faith Church and sang in service of the Lord in the Voices of Faith Choir.
Bonds was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Mason Bonds Sr. and Katie Holden-Bonds and King Emanuel Tillman and Rosie Nelson-Tillman.
Survivors include former spouse, Lois Bryant-Bonds; three children, Christopher Bonds and wife, Banetria, Brittany and Courtney Bonds; five grandchildren, Si’Aira Skyy, Kennedy and London Cannon, and Nathan and Payton Bonds, all of Houston; five brothers, Mason Bonds and wife, LeBessa, David Bonds and wife, Joann, all of Houston, Manuel Bonds and wife, Diane, Vincent Bonds and wife, Laura, all of Natchez, and Willie Edward Griffin and wife, Luvenia, of Huntsville, Ala.; and a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other loving relatives and friends.
He will be missed dearly.
