NATCHEZ — The father of a man who was arrested Dec. 4 for the Dec. 2 murder of a Cannonsburg man has been arrested and faces a conspiracy charge in connection to the murder.

Jefferson County Sheriff Peter Walker said deputies arrested Larry Griffin Sr. earlier this week on a charge of conspiracy to commit murder.

Larry Griffin Sr.’s son, Larry Griffin Jr., was arrested and charged for the murder of Roderick Delmar McKnight after McKnight’s body was found inside his vehicle in Cannonsburg Park on the morning of Dec. 2.

Investigators learned Larry Griffin Jr. had been treated for a gunshot wound that morning in a Vicksburg hospital and linked him to McKnight’s killing.

Both suspects were being held in the Jefferson County Jail with no bond, Walker said.

“More arrests are possible,” Walker said, adding an investigation is still ongoing.

Walker said investigators believe the murder was premeditated and stemmed from a disagreement over a motor Griffin Sr. had sold to McKnight.
