NATCHEZ — Services for Barbara Jean Fleming, 62, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Smithland Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernest Ford Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. today at the funeral home with a celebration of life wake service at 5:30 p.m.
Visitation will continue Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
Miss Fleming was born on July 11, 1956, in Natchez, the daughter of James Albert Jones and Janie Lee Ford Jones. She received an associate of arts degree from Copiah-Lincoln Junior College in secondary education.
Fleming was previously employed at Natchez Regional Medical Center as a phlebotomist and was a member of the Smithland Baptist Church choir, mother’s board and Sunday school. She enjoyed sewing, baking, decorating, shopping, attending church services, bible study and Sunday school.
Fleming was preceded in death by her father; two nieces, Laronica Shintrell Clemons and Janet Enell Jones; and one nephew, Jamon Clemons.
Survivors include one daughter, Lakeshia Tanise Fleming; four sisters, Ethel Clemons and husband, Earnest, Mary Marshall, Alma Jones and Eloise Jones; two nephews, Earnest Clemons Jr. and Vaughn A. Jones; five nieces, Angelita Hargrave and husband, Jonathan, Lanitra Jones, Charlene Williams and husband, Justin, Laronica Carradine and husband, Kendrick, and Lakeria Kaho; and other relatives and friends.
