Approximately 900 Entergy customers were without power for approximately 45 minutes Thursday evening in north Natchez, officials said.
The power went out at 5:41 p.m. and was restored within 45 minutes, said Tim Runnels, Entergy customer service manager in Natchez.
Runnels said officials a tree fell and knocked down a power pole on Old Washington Road causing the power outage to a large swath of customers in north Natchez along U.S. 61 from Palestine Road to Adams County Christian School.
Traffic lights were non-operational and Walmart was without power as well.
Runnels said Entergy crews switched the customers to another circuit and power was restored to approximately 850 customers shortly before 6:30 p.m.
The remaining 50 customers will be without power until the pole is repaired, Runnels said, adding that he could not speculate on the timeframe for completing that work.
