FERRIDAY — A memorial service for Daniel Martin “Coot” Swilley, 79, of Ferriday, who died Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, at Camelot Leisure Living in Ferriday, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, at Hill Memorial Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Bo Swilley and the Rev. Randy Williams officiating.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Coot Swilley was born Nov. 27, 1939, in Gilbert, La., the son of Gleve Swilley and Etta Mae Martin Swilley.
He was a member of Hill Memorial Baptist Church.
Swilley retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company after 28 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Pete Swilley; and one sister, Lynette Saunier.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Ann Hollensworth Swilley; two sons, Kenneth Swilley and wife, Tana, of Ferriday, and Bo Swilley and wife, Traci, of Natchez; one daughter, Susie Peoples and husband, Glynn, of Ferriday; one sister, Mary Ford and husband, Gene, of Monroe, La.; six grandchildren, Daniel Peoples and wife, Michelle, Stacey Burnham and husband, John, Brent Swilley and wife, Victoria, Sonni Raso and husband, Chris, Seth Swilley and wife, April, and Matt Swilley; and 12 great-grandchildren.
