FERRIDAY — Services for Minnie Leonard Brooks, 89, of Ferriday, who died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019, at her residence, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Hill Baptist Church.      
Burial will follow at St. James Baptist Church Cemetery, in Frogmore, under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be rom 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Brooks was born May 23, 1929, in Frogmore, the daughter of Eddie and Virginia Johnson Fletcher.
She was preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings, Frank Fleming, Fleming Mitchell, Dave Fletcher, Virginia Griggs, Joseph Fletcher, Ophelia Booker, Frozina Fletcher and Ruth Savage.
Survivors include five sons, Willie Fletcher and wife, Elinor, of Rome, N.Y., Kevin Brooks and wife, Benedra, of Ferriday, Dickie Brooks of Alexandria, La., Paul Brooks and wife, Maleia, and Rydell Brooks, all of Texas City, Texas; five daughters, Ollie M. Brooks, Lavern Brooks, Betty Brooks and husband, Eddie Lee, Linda Ezell and husband, Fredrick, all of Ferriday, and Pat Smith and husband, Frank, of Lawrence, Ga.; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
