The Krewe of Phoenix announces its royalty for the 2019 Mardi Gras season.
Rosalie XXXVII Betsy Colebank Mosby
Betsy Colebank Mosby is a lifelong resident of Natchez. She is a graduate of both Natchez High School and Copiah-Lincoln Community College, where she received her associate’s degree as a medical laboratory technician.
Betsy currently serves on the board of directors for Southwest Electrical Power Association and is an at-large board member for Cooperative Energy. She is a member of the Pilgrimage Garden Club and Garden Clubs of Mississippi. She is an active member of Jefferson Street United Methodist Church and volunteers several times a month delivering meals for Stewpot. Betsy is also active in the Krewe of Phoenix where she was a duchess in 2006, representing Varina Howell Davis.
Betsy is married to Sim Mosby and they have two children, Cole and Sam. Her hobbies include being with her family, traveling, and she can always be found supporting her children and their activities.
Rex XXXVII Blane Andrew Mire
Dr Blane Mire and his wife, Jennifer, have lived in Natchez for more than 20 years. He is a partner and practicing physician at Internal Medicine Associates here in Natchez. He and his partners also own and supervise the Natchez After Hours clinics and The Laser and Aesthetics clinic, where he serves as medical director. Along with his full time job, he also currently serves as the chief of staff of Merit Health Natchez Hospital. Blane has also held several positions with the Mississippi State Medical Association including serving on the PAC board and medical education council. He has also served as president of the Homochitto Valley Medical Society locally. Outside of medicine, Blane has recently given his time and energy serving on the boards at Beau Pré Country Club and Cathedral School’s Booster Club.
Blane and Jennifer are still busy raising three teenagers, Connor, 19, Hannah, 17, and Abby Rose, 14. They are active members of St Mary’s Basilica and strong supporters of Cathedral School.
Though he would like to share a list of interesting hobbies, he admits that most of his time is spent being involved the numerous athletic endeavors of his children, which greatly fulfills his time. It goes without saying that he also bleeds purple and gold and loves his alma mater in Baton Rouge. Geaux Tigers!
Duchess LaGlorieuse Sarah Bethany Willard
Sarah Beth Willard was born and raised in Natchez where she attended Cathedral High School. She attended Louisiana State University where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She Graduated from LSU in 2017 majoring in fashion merchandising with a minor in business and has since moved back to Natchez. She has worked as the office manager for the Natchez-Adams Chamber of Commerce upon her return.
She is an active member of the Pilgrimage Garden Club, Natchez Young Professionals and other community service organizations through the Chamber of Commerce. She is also a member of St. Mary’s Basilica. She is the daughter of Jim and Selah Willard and the granddaughter of Jimmy Willard and the late Catherine Willard along with Jim Overton and the late Bethany Overton.
Duke Great Sun Joseph Patrick Vogt Jr.
Patrick Vogtn Jr. was born in Monroe, Louisiana, and grew up in Natchez. He is a 2004 graduate of Cathedral High School and
He graduated from Louisiana State University in 2009 with a bachelors degree in agriculture business. He was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. Patrick serves as loan review officer for Concordia Bank & Trust Company.
He is a member of the Natchez Young Professionals, Leadership Natchez, the Vidalia Lions Club, and the Concordia Parish Ducks Unlimited Chapter.
An avid outdoorsman, Patrick enjoys hunting, fishing and outdoor recreational sports.
Patrick is the son of Melanie Burns Kennedy of Vidalia and Merida and Pat Vogt of Monroe. Patrick is the grandson of the late Therese and Pete Burns of Natchez and Marjorie Vogt and the late Dr. Eugene Vogt Jr. of Ferriday.
Duchess Marie Therese Casey Morris
Casey Morris and her husband Dallas moved to Natchez in 2012. She was born and raised in Ferriday. She graduated from LSU in 2003 and from the LSU School of Dentistry in 2007. She and her family own and practice at Miss-Lou Family Dentistry in Ferriday and Natchez.
Casey and Dallas have three children, Evelyn who is 4 years old, Easten who is 2 years old, and Sydney who is 1. They attend St. Mary Basilica in Natchez. Casey is a member of the Natchez Garden Club and Concordia PAWS rescue in Ferriday.
Duke of Versailles Wells Middleton
Wells Middleton was born and raised in Natchez. A 2009 graduate of Trinity Episcopal School, Wells is employed by Wilcox Energy Company.
He is married to Lacey Willard Middleton and they have one son Conrad. He is the son of Tammy Laird Jackson and the late Keith Jackson and Fred and Sandy Middleton. Wells is a member of Jefferson Street United Methodist Church.
Duchess Panmure Erica Smith
Erica Smith moved to Natchez in 2012 to work as a registered nurse in the emergency room. From there she went on to obtain her masters in nursing and become a family nurse practitioner. She has been working at Dr. Timm’s Pediatric and Adolescent Clinic since June of 2017. During this time, Erica met Key Smith, whom she married in 2015. They have a two-year-old daughter named Piper.
Erica is a member of the Pilgrimage Garden Club and enjoys being with her friends and family and traveling.
Duke Montfort Brown Peyton Cavin
Peyton is a native of Woodville and has lived in Natchez since 2016. He is a graduate of Mississippi College with a B.S. in accounting, and is a CPA and partner in Silas Simmons, LLP.
He serves as president of the Natchez Trace Kiwanis Club, treasurer of the Natchez-Adams County Chamber of Commerce, and treasurer of The Natchez Little Theatre. He also serves on the board of directors of The Natchez-Adams County Humane Society and the Beau Pré Property Owners’ Association.
Peyton is married to Dr. Melissa Jones Cavin, and they are members of Trinity Episcopal Church.
Duchess Marguerite Theresa de Limos Patricia Huffines
Patricia Huffines moved to Natchez 10 years ago from Albuquerque, New Mexico, to be with family. She recently married Danny Huffines and has one son, Nathan Gaudé, 18, who attends Delta Charter in Ferriday.
She is a graduate of the University of New Mexico physical therapy program, class of 1994. She currently works part time as a pediatric therapist in school districts for Key Rehab Associates. Patricia is also the owner and manager of Natchez Pottery, LLC., a community pottery studio, where she holds kids camps, workshops, and wheel/handbuilding classes.
She is a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Duke Manuel Gayosa De Limos Tommy Aaron Ellett
Tommy Ellett and wife Cathy moved from Brookhaven in 2010 to Lake St. John, where they own Ferriday Flying Service Inc. He worked as a farm manager after graduating from Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural science. He then farmed for many years before buying the flying service in 2006.
Ellett is an elder and member of New Covenant Presbyterian Church, vice president of the Louisiana Agricultural Aviation Association, and is also a member of the National Agricultural Aviation Association.
Tommy is a father of two children Sam and Laura and three grandsons. His son Sam is a pilot in the United States Air Force. Ellett enjoys duck hunting, scuba diving and hanging out with his grandsons.
Duchess Eliza Lowe Little Meghan Wood
Meghan Alexandre’ Perrodin Wood is married to Russ Wood. She is the mother of three beautiful children, Lyla, 9, Honoré, 6, and Lucy, 4. Meghan is from Rayne, Louisiana, the “Frog Capital of the World.” She has lived in Natchez for seven years and is a hair stylist and owner of C’est Jolie Salon and is a member of the Natchez-Adams County Chamber of Commerce.
Meghan’s hobbies include spending time with her friends and family, traveling, cooking, working out, gardening and decorating. She is an avid runner and has finished eight half marathons. Meghan enjoys singing and is a member of the choir and praise team at First Baptist Church in Natchez.
Duke of Monmouth Doug Jordan
Doug Jordan was born and raised in Natchez. He is a graduate of Trinity Episcopal Day School. He moved to Starkville after graduation to attend Mississippi State University. While there, Doug was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity, where he served as treasurer. He graduated Cum Laude with a bachelors of business administration degree with an emphasis in finance. Doug then returned to Natchez to join his father and brother at their family business, Jordan Carriers. Today, he and his brother currently own and operate 550 trucks across the eastern 2/3 of the United States.
He is a member of First Baptist Church where he formerly served as deacon, and currently is in his 10th year of teaching Royal Ambassadors.
In Doug’s free time you can always find him coaching one of his children in their array of sporting activities, trapping hogs, hunting or working in his yard.
Doug is married to Kristin Jordan, Duchess Eliza Lowe Little 2015, and they have three children, Owen, Anna Leigh, and Adalyn Kate.
Duchess Varina Howell Davis Devin Gammill
Devin grew up in Natchez. She is a 2001 graduate of Adams County Christian School. She attended The University of Mississippi and graduated from Alcorn State University, with a degree in elementary education. Devin has been teaching at Cathedral Elementary School for 10 years. She currently teaches fifth grade and is the middle school dance team sponsor.
Devin is a member of the Pilgrimage Garden Club, a graduate of Leadership Natchez, and an active volunteer with Natchez Young Professionals. Devin enjoys traveling, playing tennis, and spending time at the Sibley Country Club.
Devin is married to David, who is the chief cook and bottle washer at Fat Mama’s Tamales. They have one son, James, who is a second grader at Cathedral.
Duke Jefferson Davis Braxton Fondren
Braxton was born and raised in Natchez where he attended Cathedral School until his graduation in 2008. He is the son of Brad Fondren and Debbie Williams and grandson to the late Virginia and Brady Fondren of Natchez as well as Rhoda Bryan and Charles McClelland currently of Atlanta. After high school, Braxton went on to attend Mississippi College where he was a member of the Choctaw football team and graduated in 2012 with a bachelor of science in Kinesiology. While at Mississippi College, he served as the Secretary for the Kinesiology Student Association and became a member of the Southeast Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine.
Fondren works as an Account Representative for RJ Young which allows him to have a fulfilling work/life balance. Braxton has one son, Tristan Fondren, who also attends Cathedral School. He also volunteers his time serving as a board member for the Athletic Youth Association. His other hobbies include hunting, fishing and golfing. His friends and family are very important in his life and he cherishes any time spent with those close to him.
Braxton and his girlfriend Courtney look forward to starting their family together in their hometown of Natchez with their children.
