NATCHEZ — Mary Eidt was awarded the Natchez Historical Society Preservation Award for her significant contributions in historic preservation. Natchez Historical Society President Marsha Colson presented the award to Eidt during the group’s annual banquet Tuesday night at the Stanton Hall Carriage House Restaurant.

A longtime educator, Eidt has been a member of the Natchez Historical Society for more than 50 years. She is a past president of the organization. Eidt has contributed to numerous publications about Natchez history and has been a past recipient of the Natchez Historic Foundation’s Mary Postlethwaite History Award. She is also a charter member of the St. Mary Basilica Archives Committee.
