NATCHEZ — Services for Billie Brown, 89, of Jackson, formerly of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2019, in Jackson, will be 2 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with Walter Brown and the Rev. Mike O’Brien officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird funeral home.
Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Brown was born March 8, 1929, in Meadville, the daughter of Richard Spencer Haley and Ona Eliza Stevens Brown.
Billie was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and never met a stranger. She was an employee of Hinds County School system and worked at Dockery’s Food Store. Her greatest joy was taking care of her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.T. Brown; one grandson, John Thomas Brown; and five siblings, James Haley, Nannie Haley, Walter Haley, Amanda Sullivan and Naomi Lange.
Survivors include five sons, Carl Brown, Richard Brown, Charles Brown and wife, Katie, Thomas Brown and Walter Brown; one daughter, Billie Holmes and husband, Danny; three grandchildren, Naomi Corinne Spencer and husband, Matthew, Carl Andrew Brown and wife, Brittany, and Jordan Haley Brown; and one great-grandchild, Eliza Jaine Brown.
Pallbearers will be family members, relatives and friends.
