NATCHEZ — Services for Martha Washington Williams, 73, of Brandon, who died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019, at her residence, will be noon Saturday at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Walter Smith officiating.      
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home’s Natchez chapel and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Williams was born June 10, 1945, in Adams County, the daughter of Matt Washington Sr. and Gertrude Washington.
She was a member of New Omega Baptist Church in Racine, Wis., and served as president of the Deaconess Board.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Estelle Fleming; and four brothers, George Washington, Matt Washington Jr., Henry Washington and James Washington.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Williams; one loving daughter, Melita Pickett; three grandchildren, Travis Pickett, Delvin Pickett and Brittany Pickett; four great-grandchildren, Michael Pickett, Jayden Pickett, Delvin Pickett Jr., and Jayceon Pickett; five sisters, Judy Davis, Betty Sago and husband, Monroe, Harriett Green and husband, Donald, Lynell Majors and husband, Joe, and Mary V. Davis; two brothers, Michael Washington and the Rev. Carl Washington; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who she loved dearly.
