VIDALIA — A Vidalia man was booked Wednesday into the Concordia Parish Jail on a warrant for allegedly holding his girlfriend and her 8-year-old son hostage, among other charges.
Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call on Jan. 30, at 392 Green Acres Road, where they made contact with a woman, who stated her boyfriend, William R. McCurdy III, 38, held her 8-year-old son and herself at knifepoint for approximately two hours.
The woman reportedly stated that McCurdy threatened to kill both her and her son and “cut her son’s face off and peel it back with a pair of pliers.”
The next day, the woman told deputies that McCurdy came back to her residence for a half hour and pleaded with her to drop the charges against him.
When the woman told him “no,” she told deputies McCurdy broke her bedroom window and attempted to enter the residence, after which the woman left the house and ran next door to call the sheriff’s office.
McCurdy was arrested at approximately 3 p.m. Wednesday on warrants for two counts resisting an officer, simple criminal damage to property, false imprisonment with a weapon, aggravated assault and domestic violence.
