NATCHEZ— Services for Daisy Ree Arbuthnot-Baker, 71, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019, at Merit Health Natchez, were 11 a.m. Saturday at New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. LeRoy White officiating.
Burial followed at Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Mrs. Baker was born Nov. 6, 1947, in Chicago, the daughter of Charles Cleveland Arbuthnot Sr. and Annie Bertha Turner.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many. She enjoyed cooking, reading and taking care of Ricky.
Baker was preceded in death by her mother; one son, Cedric Baker; one brother, Charles Cleveland Arbuthnot Jr.; two sisters, Rose Arbuthnot Arrington and Delores Arbuthnot Smith; one nephew, Cleveland Ezell Wilson; and son-in-law, Kenneth Washington.
Survivors include her loving husband, Carl Baker; her caring father and his wife, Exelena; her devoted daughter, Carlisa Baker Washington; three grandchildren, Kandace Baker, Kendrick Baker and Kenisa Washington; one loving brother, Clarence Arbuthnot and wife, Deborah; three sisters, Addie Arbuthnot Allen and husband, Marcell, Mary Arbuthnot Bates and Annie Arbuthnot Price and husband, Percy; a son she loved as her own, Carl Green and wife, Felissa; godson, Battalion Chief Robert Arrington; goddaughter, Sanquanett Abney; a very special little boy, Ricky Leckie; brothers-in-law, Robert Lee Arrington, Fredric Lloyd and wife, Shirley, and Charles Bates; two sisters-in-law, Terrance Broxton and Audrey Lloyd; best friend, Deloris Marsh and family; a special nephew, Charles Cleveland Arbuthnot III and wife, Pamela; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
