NATCHEZ — Several Louisiana men face drug charges after a joint operation between the Adams County Sheriff’s Office Special Operation Group, Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office Special Operation Group and Mississippi Bureau of Investigation uncovered drugs, officials said.

Michael Taylor of Vidalia and Tyrone Trice of Waterproof were arrested Friday afternoon in the Natchez Mall parking lot, Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said.

Deputies said the suspects were in possession of more than 10 ounces of methamphetamine, 99 esctasy tablets, nine hydrocodone tablets and a small amount of marijuana.

Following the arrests in Natchez, Patten said, several search warrants were executed in Concordia Parish, which led to the arrest of Anthony Litt and an additional 5 ounces of methamphetamine was seized.

Patten said he was proud of the collaboration between the law enforcement agencies.

“I know the work that these officers have put into this case, and it could not have been done if they would not have worked together,” Patten said. “This organization is directly responsible for over 100 ounces of methamphetamine being brought into and sold in Adams County in the last six months.”

Officers have seized another 10 ounces of methamphetamine during the investigation in Adams County, Patten said.

“I know there will be more arrests and additional charges coming after the case is presented to the grand jury,” Patten said. “For right now, Michael Taylor has been charged with trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking ecstasy and possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle. Tyrone Trice has been charged with acting in concert with Michael Taylor in trafficking methamphetamine and possession of hydrocodone.”

At the time of his arrest, Patten said, Taylor was out on a $75,000 bond in Tensas Parish for distribution of drugs, Patten said.

Concordia Parish Chief Deputy David Hedrick said joint operations with other law enforcement agencies are necessary to make arrests.

“This is a perfect example of how well we all work together,” Hedrick said. “I’m very proud of each officer involved and very thankful that everyone came home safely. Removing illegal narcotics off the streets is our main priority of the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office. The use of illegal crimes is directly linked to crime, and we will always be vigilant in this fight. I also want to thank the people behind the scenes that these operations could not be conducted without. I want everyone to stay safe and God bless our country.”
