NATCHEZ— Graveside services for John Meche, 85, of Ferriday, who died Sunday, March 24, 2019, at Camelot Leisure Living in Ferriday, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home’s Vidalia chapel.
Mr. Meche was born March 11, 1934, in Washington, La., the son of Theodore Meche and Emethilde Quebeadea Meche.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Opal Williams Meche; his parents; one son, Darrel Meche; one brother, Joe Meche and wife, Etienne; two sisters, Mable and Angelle Meche; and special niece, Valerie Delafosse.
Survivors include two sons, Eddie Meche of Sunset, La., and David Marchbanks and wife, Loyce, of Vidalia; one daughter, Laurie Skates and husband, Ray, of Vidalia; seven grandchildren, Kelly Kimball and husband, Donnie, Dena Jackson and husband, James, all of Vidalia, Aubrie LaSyone of Denham Springs, La., Stephanie Grossé of Sunset, Abbie Temple and husband, Josh, of Pineville, La., Cara Meche and Jessica Meche, of Baton Rouge; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Marchbanks, Wayne Coyle, James Cowan, Lyn Delaney and Nasif Gardner.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Hayes, Matt Maroon, Loyce Maroon, Mark Archer and Junior Harris.
