Lady Wolves lose two in Saturday doubleheader
MONTEREY — It was a rough Saturday afternoon for LHSAA Class B Monterey High School’s varsity softball team as the Lady Wolves lost to Class 3A Albany High School and Class 4A Franklin Parish High School.
Monterey High School hosted a varsity doubleheader with Albany and Franklin Parish. In the first game of the day, the Lady Hornets held on for a 6-4 win over the Lady Patriots Saturday morning.
Then the Lady Wolves faced off with each of those two teams and the outcomes did not turn out favorably for the home team. Albany defeated Monterey 13-2 and then Franklin Parish downed the Lady Wolves 16-3. No other information on any of those games was available.
Monterey (3-8) returns to LHSAA District 5-B action today when it plays at Glenmora High School with the varsity game at 4 p.m., followed by the junior varsity game.
