Remember: ‘May the 4th be with you’

Join us for the 4th Annual Color Natchez 5K on May 4, 2019. Color Natchez is a 5K fun run held throughout the streets of Downtown Natchez.

What separates this run from a regular 5K? By the end of the course, you will be head-to-toe in color.

More than 500 people participated last year for this great event and this year we want you to join us. Need help remembering when our run is? Maybe this popular phrase will help — “May the fourth be with you!” You got it!

We’re making this year’s run Star Wars themed, so costumes are most definitely encouraged and will be rewarded — same goes for group costumes. You know Natchez loves a costume.

If your business, club or team has 30 or more runners, you may qualify for a group discount. Please call the Chamber Office (601-445-4611) to receive this discount.

Natchez-Adams County Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals created this fun, family event. We meet on a monthly basis to get to know more about this community and to promote Natchez as well as recruit other young professionals to our area.

This group has grown to over 150 members and has increasingly become more involved in this community.

We have joined with our Title Sponsor, Natchez Markets, to host this race, along with Visit Natchez, Platinum Sponsor, Jordan Carriers, Starting Line Sponsor, Taco Bell, Finish Line Sponsor and many other Gold, Silver, and Bronze sponsors who make our event a success.

If you are looking for a family-friendly event in Natchez that will be fun and healthy, then the Color Natchez 5K is the event for you.

So how does it work? You start the dash, or walk if that is more your speed, by wearing white (a white T-shirt is included in your registration package). Then, as you proceed through the course, you are splashed with either blue, green, yellow, orange or pink powdery-goodness that is 100 percent non-toxic, food-grade cornstarch and coloring.

The race will begin and end on Broadway in front of the Natchez Grand Hotel in front of the Rotary fountain overlooking the Mississippi River. Pick-up registration packets either the night of May 3, 5-8 p.m. at Natchez Brewing Company, or 8:30 a.m. before the 10 a.m. race on May 4. The race will conclude with a Color Explosion, music, food, beer and fun.

Signing up is easy! Either go to the event on Facebook titled Color Natchez 5K 2019 and click on the link or go to www.colornatchez.com. The cost to enter the Color Dash begins at $40 with packages available for families and children under 5 are free! If you entered by April 4, it is $10 cheaper and your name will be entered in a drawing for $200.

Need another reason to participate? Through 2019 Leadership Natchez Class participation, the money they earn will help provide scholarships to local students.

A fun-filled run full of color, and an event that is all Natchez — Come for the color; stay for the party.
