NATCHEZ — Services for Myra Yvonne D’Antoni, 89, of Natchez, who died Saturday, March 30, 2019, at her residence, will be 1 p.m. Friday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be noon until service time Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. D’Antoni was born May 6, 1929, in Drew, the daughter of C.J. Bishop Sr. and Velma Barron Burns Bishop.
She was a devoted wife, mother and volunteer. She was a graduate of Delta State University and was a former history teacher at Natchez public schools and a physical education teacher at Cathedral School.
D’Antoni was a member of Assumption Catholic Church and the Natchez Garden Club. She was also a former secretary and member of Catholic Charities of Natchez advisory board and a charter member of Natchez Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa National Honorary Teachers’ Sorority.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, John F. D’Antoni Jr.

Survivors include one son, Martin Edward D’Antoni of Natchez; one daughter, Elizabeth D’Antoni Porter and husband, Matt, of Athens, Ga.; two brothers, M.F. Bishop of Alexandria, Va., and Jack Bishop Jr. of Indianola; three sisters, Tawanda Smith of Indianola, René McClure of Shaw and Patricia Lacey of Kosciusko; one grandson, John Porter of Athens; one granddaughter, Paige Porter, also of
Athens; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be members of the Knights of Columbus.
