WOODVILLE— Services for Donald Lane Cavin, 69, of Natchez and Woodville, who died Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Promise Specialty Hospital in Vidalia, will be noon today at Corinth Church of Christ in Woodville with John Bryant officiating.
Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Woodville under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Mr. Cavin was born Nov. 14,1949, in Woodville, the son of Leon Claude Cavin Jr. and
Dorothy Sturdivant Cavin.
He was an avid hunter, airplane and hot air balloon pilot, skydiver, and a state champion
in calf roping.
He was preceded in death by his father and step-father, Kenneth Thompson.
Survivors include his mother, Dorothy S. Cavin Thompson of Natchez; one brother, Kenny Cavin and wife, Renee, of Natchez; one sister, Kathy Madden of Natchez; two nephews, Parker Cavin of Baton Rouge and Cain Madden of Thibodeaux, La.; three nieces, Shane McArthur and husband, Joseph, of Ridgeland, Carson Blough and husband, Christian, of St. Francisville, La., and Claudia Holifield and husband, Chris, of Vidalia; special friend, Dana Grantham of Vidalia; and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.
Pallbearers will be Parker Cavin, Austin Cavin, Justin Cavin, Wally Cavin, Jason Cavin, Neal Cavin, Cain Madden, James Johnson, Chip Sturdivant and Ray Sturdivant.
