FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — A celebration of life for Albert Ray Strong, 67, of Fredericksburg, Va., who died Thursday, April 4, 2019, at Mary Washington Hospital, will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Fredericksburg Rod and Gun Club in Fredericksburg.

Mr. Strong worked for 25 years on Capitol Hill for the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives. He established an electronic voting system for Romania after retirement for USAID.

Mr. Strong loved golf, Mississippi State University, but most of all, his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raiford Strong.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Strong; two children, Caitlin Strong and Kelly Hash and husband, James; two grandchildren, Ainslee Hash and James Ray Hash; his mother, Nelda Strong; two brothers, James Strong and wife, Susan, and Robert Strong and wife, Connie; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an account set up in his beloved grandchildren’s honor, Ainslee and James Hash, at M&T Bank, 2062 Plank Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22401.
