Hughes announces run for Adams County Tax Assessor

NATCHEZ — Larry L. Hughes announces his candidacy for Adams County Tax Assessor.

Hughes, a Natchez resident, is a graduate of South Natchez High School, Copiah-Lincoln Community College and he attended Alcorn State University.

Hughes is a 22-year licensed insurance agent in Louisiana and Mississippi, specializing in accident, health, homeowners and commercial professional liability insurance.

Hughes is an independent agent representing insurance carriers AFLAC, United Health Care and Mutual of Omaha.

Hughes’ community affiliations include membership in the Natchez Business and Civic League and NAPAC Museum of African American History and Culture.

Hughes is a former member of Leadership Natchez, Natchez baseball and basketball recreation teams and United States Tennis Association.

Hughes is a member of the Union Baptist Church where he serves as church treasurer and chairman of the finance committee.

He is the father of three children.

“I promise to be fair, hardworking and willing to listen to all citizens with any questions or concerns related to property issues — property values, appraisals,” Hughes said. “I will always have an open-door policy.”
