Jonkenya Montra Harried

NATCHEZ — Services for Jonkenya Montra Harried, 38, of Siloam Springs, Ark., formerly of Fayette, who died Saturday, March 30, 2019, in Little Rock, Ark., will be 11 a.m. Thursday at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. John Collard officiating.

Burial will follow at Jefferson Chapel A.M.E. Church Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.  Visitation will continue Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.

Mr. Harried was born on April 13, 1980, in Natchez, the son of John Henry Harried and Gladys Marie Harried.

He was a 1998 graduate of Jefferson County High School and earned a bachelor of science in agribusiness in 2002 from Alcorn State University.  He worked at Tyson Foods, Simmons Foods and Cobb-Vantress.

Jonkenya devoted his life to Christ at a young age at Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church No. 2 and continued his walk with Christ at New Christian Fellowship.

He enjoyed spending time with family, sports and ensuring that the grill was “on ideal.”

Jonkenya will be remembered for his smile.  He lived life to the fullest.

Harried was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Jean Jackson-Hawkins and Hattie Harried and grandfather, Marion Harried Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Cassandra Jeanette Williams Harried; two children, Jael Camryn Harried and Jaylin Camara Harried; his parents; two siblings, Danisha Harried-Grover and Dominsha Harried-William and husband, Quintarrus; grandfather, John Henry Hawkins Sr.; and a number of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
