VIDALIA — With local and area schools closing early on Thursday due to the likelihood for severe weather and flash flooding, all of the day’s varsity baseball games involving teams in Concordia and Catahoula parishes were rained out.

Vidalia High School was scheduled to travel to Bastrop, La. for a critical LHSAA District 2-2A game at Beekman Charter School. However, that game was postponed and head coach Michael Norris said that Vidalia will play host to the Tigers on Saturday for a varsity doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m.

Also victims of the inclement weather were LaSalle High School at Block High School in Jonesville in LHSAA District 3-1A; Delta Charter School at Cedar Creek School in Ruston, La. in LHSAA District 2-1A; and Monterey High School at Glenmora High School in LHSAA District 5-B. No make-up dates on the Delta Charter at Cedar Creek and the Monterey at Glenmora games have been announced.

Block first-year head coach Devin Barnes said that the Bears’ game against LaSalle probably will not be made up. Block will go into the 2019 LHSAA Class 1A Playoffs with an overall record of 5-13 and a 2-8 mark in District 3-1A.
