The first two dates were postponed due to rain.

A full field of 18 teams, each with four players went out at 1 p.m. to their assigned golf hole. The format was a take-the-best shot scramble.

The money raised today was upwards of $10-to-$12 thousand, board member Bill Salters said.

Many Natchez businesses participated by donating their products as door prizes.

“Proceeds from this tournament go toward three full scholarships for second year students,” said Andrew Calvit board president. “All the money stays in Natchez, that’s the good part.”

And, the money is put to good use, organizers said.

“Scholarships are awarded to students based on their GPA and their campus involvement,” said Teresa Busby, vice president.

Winning teams and winning individuals were Low Gross Score, team Howard Industries from Hattiesburg.  Low Net Score team Co-Lin.  Closest to the hole on the par 3’s were Kevin Smith Sr. on No.13. While David Sanguinetti won the closest to the hole on No. 7 and a-lso No. 16.  The long drive was won by Wes Middleton.
