The City of Natchez recently finished repairs on the building’s plumbing, which had forced organizers to move the annual music festival to the auditorium. The plumbing problems are part of a series of repair issues for the city, which owns the building.

“We now have running water, and we are able to host ‘La Boeheme” at Margaret Martin,” Festival Chairman Diana Glaze said.

The classic opera about two Parisian lovers who get caught up in a torrid romance only to end in tragedy will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Glaze said all of the sets for the opera were being built at Margaret Martin. Presenting the opera at Margaret Martin means the festival does not have to moves the sets to the auditorium, Glaze said.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. Saturday. The bar at the Grape Escape Room also will be available before the performance, Glaze said.

Festival organizers  also announced that Wednesday Rockin’ on the River performance scheduled for Rolling River Bistro has been moved to Natchez Brewing Company on the corner of Canal and High streets.

The event featuring Young Valley will be from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the new location.
