Natchez High School, NECA celebrate 2019 graduates

NATCHEZ — Think for yourself was the parting message Natchez High School Class of 2019 Valedictorian Kaitlyn Danielle Green imparted to her classmates during the school’s graduation ceremony Friday.

“Don’t allow the noise of others’ opinions to drown out your own inner voice,” Green told her 150 fellow graduates at Tom F. Williams Memorial field on Friday night.

Green is the daughter of Cedric and Tonika Green.

DeAsia Jalicia Combs was salutatorian of the class of 2019.

“Today we have the opportunity to thank everyone who has taken the journey with us,” Combs said in her salutatory speech. “We hold the power to our future.”

The Natchez Early College at Co-Lin 2019 class also had 31 graduating students participating in Friday’s graduation ceremony, including salutatorian Haley Marie Heathcock and valedictorian Malana Lushun Tennessee.

Class of 2019 President Jada Montanae Richardson gave the invocation, then the welcome address was given to the attendees by Natchez Early College at Co-Lin class President Kyla Simone Nobles.

Two diplomas were given posthumously to the families of De Elra Lashell Clark and ShaKerria E’Moni King.

Natchez High trio of DeAwshane Combs, Daniah Lewis and Akayla Miller sang the national anthem and Natchez High Air Force ROTC made the presentation of colors.
