NATCHEZ — Funeral services for Leonard Forbes, 91, formerly of Vidalia who died in Hattiesburg Friday, May 24, 2019, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Laird Funeral Chapel with Dr. Charles Brian Canuteson officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. Monday until service time at the funeral Home.

Mr. Forbes was born Feb.  13, 1928, in Blountstown, Fla., the son of Herbert Forbes and Leila Malone Forbes.

He was a dedicated husband and father. Leonard was a very giving man and would help anyone in need. He was a member of the Baptist Faith.  He worked very hard all of his life providing for his family, he was a retired manager of FMC Oil Center Tools and Drilling Company. Mr. Forbes enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1946 and received an honorable discharged in 1947.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Sarah Le Forbes, two brothers, Charlie and Gene, three sisters, Thelma, Bernice, and Louise, one grand -grandchild, Albert Canuteson, one great-grandchild, Jacob Mauldin.

Survivors include three daughters; Patsy Canuteson and husband, Albert of Houma, LA, Linda Mauldin and husband Mike of So So, MS, and Mary Wilks and husband, Barry of Kingwood, Texas; two sons, Bobby Forbes and wife, Sherry of Kingwood, Texas, and Johnny Forbes of Titusville, FL; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be, Mike Mauldin, Al Canuteson, Barry Wilks, Bobby Forbes, Johnny Forbes, and Matthew Mauldin.
