NATCHEZ — Johnathan T. Hargrave recently announced his candidacy for Adams County Coroner.
“Whether death is anticipated or comes unexpectedly, each case should be treated with dignity and respect,” Hargrave said in making the announcement. “Your confidentiality matters to me because when I see your family, I see my family.”
Hargrave said he would work with law enforcement and funeral businesses to provide excellent service to citizens.
“Responding to a death call is an emergency, and it should be the top priority of the coroner,” Hargrave said.
Hargrave holds a doctoral degree in theology and currently serves as pastor of Old St. Reed Baptist Church, he said.
“My 22-year career in the funeral industry has given me extensive experience in diverse and multicultural cases,” Hargrave said. “Being knowledgeable of various religions and ethnic backgrounds affords high respect to families when giving their first goodbyes to a loved one.”
Hargrave is married to Angelita Hargrave and together they have five children, Christopher, Leah, Maya, Jamien and Zhaman, he said.
“I promise to give the citizens of Adams County accuracy, compassion and promptness because you deserve it,” Hargrave said.
